Do a little research and explain what the difference is between a "Foster Home" and an "Orphanage"

  1. A foster home is a residential home where children live with families until they are adopted. An orphanage is a shelter or agency.

  2. A foster home is like going to a new family. If there is 4 people it is a foster home. An orphanage is a place with less care but a lot of other kids.
If you wanted to choose the better one I would say go to the foster home.

  4. an orphanage is for children with no parents, or in some cases children who's parents are unable to look after them. A foster home is where a child goes if they are fostered, this is when a family says they will look after a child, but it is not permanant. The family may choose to adopt the child however normally this is only a few months or possibly a few years, although this is rare.

  5. Orpanage: An orpaanage is like a shelter for children. It keeps them safe until they are adopted or get older.
Foster home: A foster home is a home where children live with families until they get adopted. (To me it sound like a good place to live while your waiting to be adopted).

  6. A foster home is where an orphan is placed with a family until they get adopted. An orphanage is a shelter where orphans are taken care of. The difference between the two is that in a foster home an orphan is placed with a family.

  7. A foster home is a place for a child. A family opens their doors to the place that holds orphans. Then, the social-service agency gives the child to the family. Next, the family takes care of their child. If they don't they don't choose to adopt the child, they will give the child back to the social-service agency. (We assume that was what happened with Bud) The orphanage teaches the child. Usually orphans don't learn things when they aren't in an orphanage. They catch them up and teach the child. When the child is older, he/she will then be able to get a job and live his life knowing all the facts he/she learned in "school".

  8. The difference between a foster home and a foster home is a temporary home, where orphans and abandoned children wait to be adopted. A foster home is almost like a motel for orphans and abandoned kids, where there is an amount of time before a person leaves to another home. In this case, the child would be waiting for a family to adopt them. An orphanage is a permanent home, for orphans and abandoned kids to live there. These kids are not up for adoption. The orphanage basically owns these kids. There may not be much of a difference in these two types of shelters, but they both are important to kids around the world.

  9. The difference between a "Foster Home" and an "Orphanage" is that a foster home is a group home or a private home that has a child who is raised by someone other than the child's actual or absolute parents; however an orphanage is a residential institution for caring and sheltering orphans and abandoned children.

  10. A foster home is a home where children live with families until they are adopted. At foster homes people are trying to place kids into families as fast as possible. To foster means to help someone grow and develop.

An orphanage is a shelter or agency where children (orphans) live together. Children are put into orphanages because parent(s) are unable or unwilling to care for them.

  11. An orphan is a person who's parent(s) have passed away and a foster child is someone who's health isn't in a very good condition but parents are alive OR is when the family has an emergency situation.

A foster home is when a child is taken care of by others because of a family or health situation.
    V.S.
An orphanage is where children live and get supervision from adults of food, shelter, care, etc.

  12. This question I put lots of thought into it. I had no idea what the difference between a "Foster Home" and an "Orphanage" was! I thought some more and predicted maybe a foster home was for older people. Then I researched. An orphanage is a shelter or agency that holds people. A foster home is a home where you wait to be adopted. So in Bud, Not Buddy, Bud is in a foster home, not an orphanage. So the difference between an orphanage and a foster home is that a foster home lets you get adopted while orphanages keep you and you don't get adopted from them.

  14.  Foster Home- A house in which orphan children live in with another family until the child is adopted

 Orphanage- a shelter for orphan children

Therefore, whereas both provide shelter, a foster home is the house of a family which takes care of the child until he/she is adopted. An orphanage is a shelter/agency that houses many orphan children until they are sent to a foster home or are adopted.

  15. The difference between a foster home and an orphanage is that a foster home is a residential home where kids can be adopted. An orphanage is a shelter for kids whose parents have died. In an orphanage the kids are not adopted, they are kept at the orphanage to do work.

  18. A foster home is a place where a delinquent child is placed. An orphanage is a place for care and education for orphans. So the diffrence is that an orphanage educates people and a foster home doesn't.
