Chapter 2

Bud actually hit Todd Amos although Todd was older and much bigger that Bud was. His actions got him send back to the Home. What do you think may have been a better way to get his revenge if he did not want to be caught and sent away? Be creative, but remember you have to be smarter than Mrs. Amos!

  1. I think Bud should have Todd to stop. If Todd didn't stop then Bud should have went into a diffrent room. If Todd followed Bud then Bud should start running away from Todd in the back yard.

  2. If I were Bud I would take the pain until Todd's mother walks in and sees Todd bullying Bud.
My other plan would be to lock the door and stay in at all times.
If that does not work there is always plan C. RUN!

  3. I think I would have waited until Mrs. Amos came to listen to Todd's silly lie and just before he lied,I would explain to Mrs.Amos what had really happened. If she didn't beleive me, I would punch her in the face for not treating a child so young as ten years old respectfully and raising a spoiled kid. Todd, having grown up with Mrs. Amos taking care of him, probably didn't know any better. So when you think about it, Mrs. Amos really deserves the punch that Bud had given Todd. It's like that song in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Who do you blame if the child is selfish? The mother and the Father. I love that song. If I got into serious trouble, I would be my own lawyer and say that the parents deserved it fro being irresponsible.

  4. I think they should have kicked him out of the house, with only a pillow. Make him sleep in the the forest and take away his luggage, so he would not run away or do something bad.

  5. First of all, I think what Bud did was just inappropriate. I know it was the 1930s, but no child should do that. I can't believe in the 1930s that kids did that. I thank the HEAVENS that I live in 2013 not the 1930s. Back to the question, I think Bud should of held back his anger on Todd so he wouldn't get caught for his big slap. He just should have didn't think that he scare or aggravate Bud. Then, Todd would of gave up and Bud would of got his "revenge" by telling the truth of the fight (near the time it happened or a month from the event).

  6. Better revenge would be for Bud to be really good since Todd doesn’t want him to stay. Being good would let Bud stay longer and Todd would get really mad since he doesn’t want him there. It would also finally work out for Bud, he would have a family.

  7. Another way Bud could have gotten revenge without getting caught could've been to sneak the sticky rubber sheet that he has to sleep on into Todd's bed.

  8. Bud should have taken revenge on Todd by doing the exact same action Todd took on him: Stick the pencil up his nose! Todd would know that Bud stuck the pencil up his nose only if he sticks it up too high. So, he could use the same one that Todd used on him. In a way, Bud is still getting Todd back, but Todd won’t know about the pencil up his nose, but he’ll probably just catch a cold. When Todd stuck the pencil up Bud’s nose, Bud described the moment like he smelled erasers and led all around the room. Bud might be able to cover up the smell by using an air freshener of some kind. In the 1930s there weren’t any air fresheners. Therefore he would be forced to use something else; fruit juice or laundry detergent.
If you add all these ingredients, then presto! You have perfect revenge! Todd wouldn’t be able to make a mountain out of a mole hill because he wouldn’t know about this. Bud wouldn’t have to go back to the foster home, and he would be sleeping cozy in the indoor bed.

  9. He could have told Mrs. Amos that Todd hit him. As he said, he was a pretty good liar. Or, he could have told Mr. Amos. if Mr. Amos is like his wife, Bud is in the doghouse.

  10. If I were Bud, I wouldn't hit Todd. Instead, I would place a camera on the dresser, or a table for the first night. You wouldn't know if the family of Amoses would be bad, or good. When the pencil was up Bud's nose, the camera would be taping. When we got up, I would show it to Mrs. Amos. Then, she'd ground Todd for quite some time. Mrs. Amos would no longer let a lie go right passed her.

  11. What I think would be a better way to get revenge on Todd and to not be sent back to the Home or to be caught is to not hit Todd because that is what made Bud in trouble, instead he should speak out frankly about his opinions and reasoning on the situation he is in.

  12. Bud could have instead taken the pencil that "took a trip to his nose" and use it to creep out Todd because there can be some pretty nasty stuff up in there. Todd will try to avoid it and then Bud can make it touch Todd, without leaving a mark behind. After he is done, Bud can act like he is sleeping in his bed and that way Bud cannot be accused of fighting back and if Todd tells what Bud did for revenge, he has to include the part about Todd shoving it up to the R.

  13. The less painful way for bud would be to instead of getting a broken everything, would be to stick the same pencil up Todd's nose and see if Todd can beat the R record, although he might still be sent back to the Home.

  14. I think Bud should have kept the pencil in his nose and called Mrs. Amos, then Todd would get in trouble and Bud would be off the hook. If that didn’t work, I wouldn’t care about having a family as long as I was away from them!

  15. I think Bud should have just told Todd to stop hitting him, instead of hitting him back, and could have kept the pencil in his nose. Then he should tell Mr. Amos what Todd did, and when Mr. Amos sees the pencil in his nose, he would probably yell at Todd (which probably teaches Todd a lesson). Pencils are sometimes toxic, so that was dangerous.

  16. I think bud could've out-smarted Tod by just sitting up and then fake trying to get up, keep the pencil in his nose, and call Mrs.Amos and say Todd pushed him and stuck a toxic writing tool up his nose.
